Made with leather and dipped in hot Bees wax to water proof them and keep their shape, this type of bottle has been used for millennia to transport liquids. The added benefits for the modern age is the lack of plastics and they are 100% biodegradable, nothing but natural materials are used (okay, the thread is a polymer but that's it, promise!)

Due to the nature of leather not every bottle will appear the same, even if they were made at the same time. It is not possible to predict how much each one will hold so we have named them accordingly for a potential use.

Whisky - The smallest which should hold enough Whisky for one or two to share a wee dram.

Mead - This will hold enough of your favourite tipple to share, or at least make the night very interesting...

Battle Bottle - The first of these intended to hold water, if you think you can get beer in here feel free. We find they are just the right size to quench your thirst during a reenactment battle.

The Gamekeeper - This is a bit of a beast, the largest one made so far has held 1.6 litres!

Costrel - A very traditional shaped bottle, intended more for poring into a cup than actually drinking from. Also made from a much thicker leather so it can be used for transporting/camping.

Please note that Pearl Barley is used to shape the bottles, whilst every care is taken to remove as much as possible some will still remain inside the bottle. If you have any sensitivities to Gluten you should not not use this bottle for food purposes.

The first couple of times you use your new bottle you may notice Pearl Barley grains in the liquid, we recommend letting the bottle stand for 24 hours with water in it, drain it and then repeat at least once more. This should remove the majority of the remaining grains.

As the bottle is sealed with Bees Wax, it shouldn't really need to be said that only cold liquids are used, but just in case, I am saying it now to be sure. Only use cold liquids!
